Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Ahead of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's visit on Tuesday, nine GTA members have started an agitation against the anti-partition resolution passed in the state assembly. The Chief Minister attended a government function at Siliguri's Kanchenjunga Stadium today.
On the other hand, nine members including the Hamro party president and GTA members Ajay Edward and Vinay Tamang sat on a symbolic hunger strike at Gorkha Ranga Manch Bhawan in Darjeeling.
At the same time, a 12-hour bandh has been called in Darjeeling on February 23 against the anti-partition resolution. Vinay Tamang said that on Thursday i.e. February 23, bandh has been called from 6 am to 6 pm. He requested all the people who want Gorkhaland to join this bandh.
In fact, Ajay-Vinay had threatened to go on strike after the resolution against the partition of Bengal was passed in the assembly. On the other hand, a resolution against the partition of Bengal was passed in the Assembly on Monday. After which, today Ajay-Vinay faction announced the movement.
